Popular City Destinations a Weekend Away With The Guys

The best nightlife for a stag weekend abroad

I think one of the most important parts of a stag weekend is whether or not the nightlife is any good. After all, you don't want to be stuck in during the evenings, or sat in a bar with zero atmosphere and pricey drinks.

Should you like the sound of going abroad for your stag weekend, or you're the one in charge of organising it, there are loads of places that have a brilliant nightlife. I've come up with a list of some of the best destinations and the reasons why I believe they're perfect for partying. There's a lot to be said for the craic to be had in Dublin and it's popular with stag groups for a reason. With around 1,000 pubs in the city, you certainly aren't short of watering holes and you can easily hop from one to the other for the ultimate partying weekend.

Dublin is split into different districts, but one of the best for a night out has to be Temple Bar. You will find a variety of traditional Irish pubs here, as well as bars, with the Auld Dubliner Pub, Palace Bar and Farringtons some of the most well-known venues.

Once you've made your way around Temple Bar's pubs and indulged in some traditional Irish music, you might want to head to a nightclub so you can party into the early hours. Club M, Alchemy Club and Venue and The Button Factory are three of the busiest clubs in Temple Bar, although there are loads more outside of this area.

The Polish city of Krakow boasts an amazing nightlife, particularly if you want to enjoy a stag weekend on a budget. Your money will definitely stretch a long way here, especially if you stick to the country's own beverages, rather than drinking imported produce.

You will quickly realise the best place in the city for a good time is the Old Market Square, which is filled with bars and nightclubs along its lovely cobbled streets. The top venues are all within an easy walking distance, so you don't need to worry about flagging down taxis or getting lost.

For something a little bit different, you can go on a river cruise, where you will enjoy the stunning sights of the city while tucking into a mouth-watering meal and washing it all down with a beer.

My final suggestion for a fun stag weekend abroad is Amsterdam. The Dutch destination is known for its laidback lifestyle, so start as you mean to go on by going on an all-inclusive drinks canal boat trip. You will even get the chance to hop off and pop into a couple of bars and this certainly makes a change from having to walk or jump into a taxi!

As you'd expect from such a popular city, there are lots of different traditional pubs, stylish bars and bustling clubs to choose from. My top tip is to go beer tasting at a brewery during the day in order to establish your tipple for the night.

You might also like to visit 't Arendsnest, which is a lively pub that serves a huge variety of local beers. Groups of eight and more can enjoy a beer tasting session, which is a great way to kick off your evening in Amsterdam.

Have you been on a stag weekend to Amsterdam? If so, post your recommendations of the best clubs and pubs to help future visitors decide where to go.
