On Top in Paris

Image
The city of love has a lot to offer, with classic French cuisine, world famous land marks and large open spaces. With the good news that airlines such as easyjet and Ryan Air are increasing the frequency of flights to Paris from regional airports in the UK we thought it helpful to spotlight one or two of the wonderful things to do and see in the French capital Here we take a look at some of the obvious and not so obvious things you can enjoy in Paris. The Eiffel Tower A trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without a trip up The Eiffel Tower. This historic landmark made of wrought iron latticed tower was built in 1889 as the arch and entrance to the World’s Fair, celebrating 100 years since the French Revolution. The tower is 320 metres high and is the most visited tourist monument in the world (and it’s not even a wonder of the world). It was a supposed to be a temporary structure but has remained ever since. Those who want to get to the top of the tower can do so for €14.00

Family Friendly Activities In Amsterdam

Image
Amsterdam has a reputation as being a more adult holiday destination. However there is far more to Amsterdam, as the city does have some family friendly attractions too. image: Travel Treats NEMO Science Centre Perhaps one of Amsterdam's boldest attractions, NEMO was designed by architect Renzo Piano, and resembles a half submerged ship. It stands majestically on Amsterdam's Eastern Dock and is an instant draw for anyone in the mood to explore. It is full of remarkable, interactive displays, from small terminals to huge activity areas. The exhibits are also very well spaced out so it never feels too crowded, even with parties of school children that often attend. Plantagebuurt The Plantagebuurt walk is a beautifully scenic excursion that allows you to take in some of Amsterdam's most arresting views and architecture. Starting near the NEMO Science Centre, you can begin your stroll through this attractive neighbourhood, which includes the original guild house of

Why Spring is the Best Time to Visit Norway

Image
Why Norway? Norway is one of the world’s most spectacular countries, and truly a magical place to visit anytime of year.  Due to its relatively high costs, for many it is a once in a lifetime holiday destination. It is therefore advisable to plan ahead for your time in Norway to make sure you get the most from the stunning Scandinavian country. Northern Lights For me, spring is an ideal time of year to visit Norway as you get the best of both worlds. Temperatures aren’t as low as mid-winter and days aren’t as short, plus as it is not high season prices are a little cheaper. One of Norway’s biggest draws; the Northern Lights are often still visible at this time of year, and watching them from the milder nights is definitely more enjoyable than mid-winter. The best areas to spot the natural phenomenon of dancing lights in the sky at night are places out of town, in more remote areas, with the least light pollution. It’s a great place to relax as well as explore, so if you intend to go Dubai, then there are seven must see places you shouldn’t miss. White beauty Shadows and white stone form a place of patterns in darkness and light at sunset time in the Jumeirah Mosque. It’s pure whiteness and beautiful architecture of the Fatimad tradition brings out the beauty of Islamic art. Into the desert The desert safari is a mix of sand dunes, belly dancers and delicious dinner which you will partake in a desert camp at the outskirts. You get to ride a camel too and enjoy the roller coaster vehicle drive as well as have a glimpse of the traditional desert way of living in a Bedouin village. The day ends with a romantic dinner or the hook

Hotspots of Hawaii

Image
Hawaii is the dream destination for many purely because just mentioning the name of this US state conjures up good vibes, bright colours and brighter sunshine over beautiful sandy beaches. But the stereotypical and rather dated image of Hawaiian shirts, leis and hula skirts is just what’s on the surface of the Hawaiian Islands, to please the tourists. Under the flowers and frills lie outstanding landscapes, adventure experiences and wonderful wildlife that will stay in the memories of visitors for the rest of their days, especially as there are plenty of fantastic photo opportunities from high vantage points. The Six Islands of Hawaii Hawaii is the largest of 6 islands that make up the US State of Hawaii. Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai and Maui are the names of the other islands in the belt, with Kauai being the oldest and northernmost island. Each island has its own special selling point. Kauai has its coastlines, canyons and river; Oahu contains the capital of Hawaii and also

Las Vegas, the “Entertainment Capital of the World” attracts millions of people each year.  The scintillating lights, the casinos, the fancy hotels, the fast cars, the livelihood and the general youth of the city are just a few reasons why people visit Las Vegas.  But besides all the glitz and glamour, Las Vegas offers plenty of attractions that are [relatively] family friendly.  For when you get tired of gambling and fine dining, take a break with these “think outside the box” attractions. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation: This national park attracts more than a million visitors each year.  The park is only 15 miles away from the city of Las Vegas, so if you have an extra day, make a trip out and spend the day in awe.  The Red Rock Canyon isn’t your average park.  Don’t head in expecting a lush forest.  What you should expect is desert beauty. Red Rock Canyon is made of fossilized sand dunes.  However National Parks Las Vegas tree service does have somewhat of a pre
