Staying in Barclona with Children

Where should I stay in Barcelona when visiting with kids?

Spain is an incredibly child friendly country. Though shops and restaurants do not have as many facilities for children as they do in Northern European countries, the approach to children is much warmer, and children are gladly welcomed anywhere, at any time of day.

If you are visiting with small children, renting a Barcelona apartment is a great accommodation option, offering essentials such a your won kitchen fully equipped for self catering, a large bathroom and a washing machine.

Barcelona is a great city to visit with kids and offer many many options. One question that seems to be asked by many visitors is - where is the best area of Barcelona to stay in with kids?

Barcelona has over 3km of clean, golden, sandy beaches: these are perfect for your little ones. Usually occupying children during a city break can be challenging, and it can be hard for you to find time to relax as well as take in the galleries, museums and sites you wish to see. A beach is the perfect compromise offering relaxation for all.

There are numerous rental apartments close the beach (as well as within easy reach of the city centre), making your trip to the beach with the kids no more than a 5 minute walk.

In Poblenou is the Poblenou Beach building with 12 Barcelona beach apartments. Some apartments offer a terrace with a sea view, and there is a communal terrace on the roof. The beach is no more than 5 minutes away and you will find a supermarket, a fresh food market, pharmacies, bars and restaurants, all within 1 minutes walk.

The Marquet Beach building is just around the corner on a quiet pedestrian street, here you will find 4 more Barcelona beach apartments.

Gracia - A village in the city

Gracia is a village that once was situated outside the city limits. During Barcelona's rapid 19th century expansion, Gracia was incorporated into the city.

Today it is an oasis within the city of narrow pedestrian streets and small pedestrian squares lined with orange trees where your kids can safely play while you sit and enjoy some tapas. Gracia boasts a bohemian and international vibe, many foreigners chose to live and work here, and it is very popular with parents with small children. There are numerous child friendly bars and restaurants (yes bars!) as well as small shops selling original children's toys and clothes. Yet Gracia is right on the edge of one of the most important streets in Barcelona, Passeig de Gracia, in prime position to explore all the city has to offer.

The Mozart building is on a quiet side street and contains 6 Barcelona apartments in Gracia, all fully equipped with everything you need if you are visiting with children.
