Much More to Mauritius

Known as the world’s tropical paradise, Mauritius boasts a wealth of beautiful beaches and lush sceneries which promise to astound anyone who visits. The island is around 2000 square kilometres, with its picturesque beaches taking up 330 km, making Mauritius an intimate but not isolated location for your holiday.

There is much to see and do there, so we’ve put together a list of Mauritius’ top 5 activities to help you decide!

Sky Dive

Are you feeling adventurous? Do you want to experience the rush of adrenaline, and view the island in a whole different light?  Then strap on your parachute and get ready to skydive! Skydiving in Mauritius is a unique and exciting experience, as you fly over the tropical paradise and prepare yourself to jump 10,000 feet. Don’t panic, you won’t be on your own: you’ll be strapped to an experienced skydiver, so all you have to do is take a deep breath and enjoy the incredible scenery! If you’ve never been skydiving before then skydiving in Mauritius will be a truly unforgettable experience – there’s nothing quite like it.

Walk with Lions

Get in touch with your wild side in Mauritius, and walk with the island’s lions! At the Mauritius Safari and Bird Park you will be able to learn about the lions before beginning your excursion with them and their handlers. Observe the lions as they frolic with one another, scale trees and roam freely alongside you, making for a rare and unique opportunity. You will be able to study their behaviour, and afterwards learn about how the park helps to keep them protected. Apart from walking with the lions, you can also interact with the park’s cheetahs too.

Scuba Dive

With so many beautiful beaches on the island, surrounded by colourful coral reefs, the opportunities for diving are practically endless. Enjoy the warm and calm ocean as you explore an underwater paradise, filled with all sorts of tropical sealife. There are plenty of diving centres along the coast which rent out diving equipment, and offer week-long diving courses for those of you who are beginners.

Unwind at the Spa

When you’ve finished jumping out of planes and wrestling with lions, you can unwind at one of the various spa centres scattered around the island. You’ll find top notch and luxurious facilities at the majority of resorts, which will leave you feeling completely at ease and relaxed – and afterwards you could take a lazy evening stroll on the beach!

Visit the Black River Gorges National Park

Stretching over 6574 hectares of land, the Black River Gorges National Park is a spectacular forest filled with various kinds of rare and endangered wildlife. You can embark upon one of the many hiking trails, and witness over 300 varieties of flowering plants that grow there. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, and bring your camera so you can capture the stunning landscapes and waterfalls which you’ll encounter along the way.
